On June 21, the Promise Program classroom at the Jewish Community Center took a field trip to the Utica Zoo. The Promise Program was able to enter the zoo at 9:30 a.m. so they could spend some quiet, one-on-one time with the animals. Students enjoyed the nature trail, animal exhibits, lunch under the pavilion, and even a special ice cream cone treat!
Toni-Anne Johns, Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education at the Kelberman Center said that the highlight of the day was watching the children help each other read signs and make their way through obstacles on the nature trail. We are thrilled that this group of students was able to spend a special day with their friends and teachers before saying goodbye to preschool.
